The 2010 edition of supplychainforesight is being launched in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg this week. The annual study which has been conceptualised and sponsored by Barloworld Logistics since 2003, is now independantly conducted by international research specialists Frost & Sullivan.

This year's study reflects the input from almost 400 South African companies - most of them multinational businesses and almost half the responses came from senior executives and CEOs. The focus of the 2010 research is on approaches to the upturn and how South Africa's industries can become more competitive in what is bound to be a more chastened and cautious post-recession economic world.

The research proves that the country's major industries are taking an optimistic and strategically positive view of the ways in which South Africa's supply chains will enable recovery from the recession. If you're not one of the 400 industry members attending the launch this week, Supply Chain Update will have a link for you to download the study from next week.
