At the SAPICS conference, The Fresh Connection Supply Chain Simulation Game was launched – it’s a great way for your supply chain team to challenge and test their learning and knowledge. It’s inexpensive, not time consuming and the prizes are certainly worthwhile! The Fresh Connection Supply Chain Simulation Game is an exciting new learning tool and is relevant to all personnel in the Supply Chain. A great way to put your CPIM or CSCP qualifications to the test, it also provides a platform for you to experiment with new ideas and test strategy in a non-threatening environment.

Select a team of 4 and for maximum benefit your team should comprise of the following members:

  • Purchasing : who is responsible for the choice of suppliers and supplier agreements
  • Operations : who concentrates on the organisation of manufacturing and warehousing
  • Sales : who decides on customer service, order priorities, and promotional activities
  • Supply Chain:  who is responsible for supply chain strategy and control decisions

Over a period of 7 weeks you and your team need to turn around a down and out Fruit juice company and save it from it’s from its demise.  Every week after you have made your strategic changes advanced simulation software will translate your decisions into relentless and confronting consequences.

SAPICS will be donating R 25 000.00 from the revenue generated from this project to the Walter Sisulu Paediatric Foundation, The winning team will be the South African Supply Chain Team of the Year and will be whisked away to Europe in 2011 for play offs against their European counterparts.
